my philosophy

As a Family Support Specialist, having worked in over 300 homes in my 25+ year career, I have seen every parenting style and dynamic out there. Adapting my philosophy in the early years of my career, I was witnessing some specific core beliefs and began creating specific teachings that have worked consistently in different homes and circumstances. Beginning in 2012, I began living with families for a 4-6 week period to create, teach and coach “New Ways of Living”. With increasing demand in 2020, this concept became a combination of in-person and virtual process to support even more families.

I am proud to offer the Chaos to Consistency ~ Parenting with Intention Program to bring my philosophy of teaching into family homes, nationwide. My patience and non judgmental demeanor is a breath of fresh air for parents who are finding themselves in challenging situations.

Coming into homes where children have little to no respect for parents, siblings, pets - even personal belongings such as toys and home furnishings, I have developed the ability to come in at the ground level and re-teach everyone how to handle situations differently. It’s not that families are doing anything wrong, it’s just clear that what they are doing isn't working - bringing in a professional is a great way to help the situation.

Books, workshops and seminars are great if you would like to understand what to do differently - but until now, no one has been able to come into your home and actually teach how to do that. The examples given are never going to fit your family - “we need someone to be inside the four walls of our home to really see what is happening!” Enter Jen Angier!

Teaching “New Ways of Living” to not just one child, but the family as a whole, everyone will have a new role and guidelines that work for each member of the family - without pointing fingers towards one person in particular.

Anger, frustration, and raised voices have been proven to do more harm than good, therefore, positive language, actions, reinforcements and low voice levels are key concepts to my communication style, as well as clear expectations, unwavering follow-through and loving firmness. In my experience, bringing great focus and attention to the positive behaviors makes negative behaviors decline significantly. Although there are times for time out and/or chill out, I use those rare experiences as an additional learning tool to help children understand why they are being removed from a situation.

I am known for having open communication within the family home - working to remove the name calling, temper tantrums, nagging, and disrespect that some families have taken on in their home. If you are ready to find the love and joy for your children again and increase the positivity in your home, Jen Angier is Here For Your Family.
